Sonic & The Secret Rings
Minimum Players 1 Maximum Players 1 (I think)
Type of Player To Accommodate: Original-Sega-Child
Well, I was more getting this as something to build up my reflexes – make me sharper – quicker – better at Wii’ing… But no. A thousand times No.
Sonic itself is a marvel – its stood the test of time and I can’t imagine how many Sonic related games there are (Flash back to ‘Sonic Pinball’ on Sega MegaDrive). But again – a thousand times No.
Trying too hard to incorporate the Wii remote into the game play – you have to hold the Remote ‘Handlebar’ style and simply tilt yourself to corner sonic round a map. Basic bunny hop motions and ‘shunting’ forward will navigate Mr Sonic round even the most complex labyrinth.
Now don’t take me as gospel – I only had the boredom factor to play for about 90 minutes – that was enough to make my mind up for life (I’m easily swayed like that!)
Boring, repetitive, lame and un-entertaining gameplay.
Coupled with a horrifying Soundtrack that has to be muted after around 15 minutes of play… Its not a fun game – and it casts shame over the Genius that was ‘Sonic 2’ (in my opinion the best Sonic game of all time)
