I haven’t played Pokemon in donkeys years. After downloading the very first original version of the game of the internet about a year before it hit the GBA (that’s Gameboy Advance to you young un’s who don’t know) – and playing it on my PC – I thought it was genius.
The concept is really good – I do feel they have over pimped the idea however with the infinite versions of the game they have brought out. From what I’ve seen they’ve also renamed the same pokemons – or they’ve got really desperate and designed new ones that only have slight differences to their predecessors.
But anyway – more to the game itself and not the philosophy behind their owners greed!
Its pants.
The one thing they seem to stress at the start of the game is that to have the ‘edge’ in this – you really need to Wi-Fi your Nintendo DS to the Wii and upload your Pokemon from your DS Version of the game.
Yes – you have sensed the same drawback as me!
I don’t own the game on the DS – nor have I had the hours of free time to train them up on this invisible version of the game. So you have to play the Wii version with a ‘Rental’ pass. When I think of rentals – I see TenPin Bowling Clown shoes – the dirty things you have to ‘borrow’ when you don’t have your own. Much like this game.
They tell you all this great stuff about being able to customise your trainer and do amazing things – but only if you upload from your DS. So I haven’t got the game on the DS – so I’m ‘renting’
Meaning the game is totally impersonal as the only thing you can change on the look of your person is whether they have a satchel in their avatar picture or not. Lame! So you start with already levelled to 50 Pokemon – which takes the fun from the game – and I think everyone else is using level 30’s because they drop quick!
Save your money – only buy this if you have the Pokemon game on the DS and have already spent hours playing it. But why would you if you have a Wii?
See… The logic isn’t there. Skip to the end. Don’t buy this game!
Sorry
