Now, firstly let me give you an insight to who I am. I’m Jason (Hello!), and other then mastering the arts of the computer world – I also have a hobby. Now before I do into details – let me paint the background…. I have only ever had one hobby. I’ve been doing this hobby since I was 7 years old – and I now find myself to have decent at said hobby… That hobby that I pride myself in – is Ten Pin Bowling.
Been Bowling for Years and Years – I’m now 24 – so using the cunning power of GSCE Maths – I’ve been bowling around 17 years.
Now – onto the game… It sucks!
It’s the most unrealistic pile of rubbish I have ever had the misfortune to pay full whack for (what can I say – I was mesmerized at the thought of ‘real’ Wii Bowling – sorry ‘Wii Sports’.
Not only does the ball have a mind of its own – its got the most unrealistic movement patterns! You can play the same shot twice and the ball will do two completely different things! What’s more – the sensor bar doesn’t seem to have any form of use in this. You can point aim – super slow motion – nothing will give you accuracy on this. Don’t get me wrong though – 17 years experience meant I could get a couple of ‘good spells’ out of the game – but then at the drop of a pin – all over the shop once again! It was the most infuriating hour of my life!
Myself and another top grade bowler tried the ‘QuickPlay’ setting where we could pick the crème de la crème bowlers and have a pop. But even with their amazing stats – access to the most expensive bowling balls available (at $5,000 – its ‘slightly’ unrealistic!) and even these guys couldn’t score more then a 150.
I will happily conduct some form of bonfire/ceremony with my couple of this sad excuse for a game and video tape the event to help educate your own purchase. However, Brunswick being the force in the Bowling World that they are – have now lost a customer for life due to their ridiculous attempt to ‘cash out’ on the Wii.
I’m disgusted with them (as I guarantee they didn’t actually play this game) but with the makers. I tried to find the credits to see if they had game testers – and if any of these were among the arsenal of big names that Brunswick have contracted for appearances and ‘ball launches’ etc – but couldn’t find it.
Save your money – Spend the £30 it will cost on an actual game of bowling!
This game is so far – one of my worst purchases I’ve ever made.
