Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 [GRAW2]

I’m not fond on War Games, and find them a bit repetitive. I do like the clever-bar-steward-ness of being a Sniper however!
This game was the first revolutionary war game, to introduce some awesome little tweaks. Didn’t you ever find it frustrating that a single piece of plywood would prevent the crouching enemy from being hurt from the 15 or so frag’s you’d littered the surrounding area with? Not anymore! If your rifle is high powered enough – you can ‘blast that fool’ through the barricade. Dry Walls, Metal Sheets you name it – you can shoot through it (if its thin enough of course!)
Online this game was a phenomenon itself. It had people chomping-at-the-bit to get into a 16 player match with a good strong signal… Those games filled up quick! And people all around the world became very good very quickly! But not only in self-on-self warfare – the Online Co-Op missions (with accompanying Gamer Points) were a bread of their own. Try and get a room of 16 people skilled enough to make a ammo pack of 600 last an hour – add to that the protection of a allocated zone on your map and you then had yourself a challenge! But it didn’t stop it from being available 24/7 with people trying, trying and trying still!
But back to non-online mode… Its awesome! The buttons were straight forward, the objectives well laid out – and the support AI was not dopey at all.
You can command people around, use your overhead scout to check ahead or hang back and snipe the nuts off people! It had everything!
A stunning game, with (back then) new aspects of warfare and little touches that would really make you chuckle. Get four people round for a bit of split screen and again – go for the co-op missions. Even better – System-Link it and have ‘Alpha Squad’ in one room on headsets and you guys backing them up. Top effort of a game!
It went ‘Platinum’ quite a while ago to – so add this game to the price tag of £19.99 or less, and you’ve got yourself sale of the century!
